Managing Director, Mr Darren Lee, has been invited to present to council and the community on brand and marketing and how local governments have embraced a rebranding project and are better placed for community, economic and tourism development. All community members are warmly invited to attend to hear the opportunities available with a rebranding project. EJS ENCOUNTERS OF THE OCEANIC HEART EXHIBITION Friday 26 October, 5pm at the Quairading Club. Come on a journey with EJ and her ocean creatures. Emma will have her latest Ocean Wildlife Photography available on display and will share with you her story over the past year (or 10) in the ocean. Having collaborated with Jason Dean from Timber Affair in framing all images in local Western Australian Jarrah & Marri Timber. Each frame is a work of art in itself, handmade, unique and unable to be duplicated. This year, 2018, marks the 40th year that Albany stopped its 178 year Whaling industry. So our beautiful whales have been “40 YEARS FREE” I feel that this deserves being recognised and celebrated! I would like to invite you to help celebrate the magnificence of these gentle giants as they play freely in their ocean home! QUILTERS OF QUAIRADING PATCHWORK WEEKEND Saturday and Sunday, 27 and 28 October at the Community Building. “Oriental Dreaming” project requirements available from Janice. COMMUNITY THANK YOU Once again I am overwhelmed with the generosity of this town, I cannot thank you all enough for the support you have shown. I have numerous people I need to thank, you all know who you are. I will have this and the list of raffle prize winners along with the final tally in the next Banksia Bulletin, so watch this space. Many thanks to everyone who came on the night, a lot of fun was had by all, Tracey.

NOTIFICATION OF TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF BLAND ROAD Bland Road will be closed, from Old Yoting Road to Hayes East Road, for two days from Tuesday 23 October, 6:30am until Wednesday 24

October, 5pm. This is required to allow replacement of a culvert on Bland Road that was damaged during last year’s floods to be replaced. Local traffic only will be permitted, but the road is impassable at the actual culvert site 750m north of Old Yoting Road intersection. Warning signs will be in place. Motorists are requested to seek alternate routes. 2018 PHONE BOOKS Now available for $5 each from the Quairading CRC. TOWN WALKS Need a walking buddy? Join the Quairading Walky Talkys. Mondays at 5:15pm and Fridays at 6:30am, starting at the Quairading CRC car park for 30—45 minutes. Totally casual, no set routes. Group size will vary every walk, sometimes it might just be you. EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST The Shire of Quairading are looking for expressions of interest for catering and or running the bar for Council’s annual Christmas function to be held Friday 30 November 2018.
