Communion Service

My dear Parishioners,

Like every other parish and mission in the Archdiocese, St. Paul

of the Cross has been caught up in the overall development of a

Pastoral Plan for the Archdiocese. During the past several weeks

you were invited to join a small discussion group to consider one

of the four multi-dimensional issues selected by the Archbishop

as major concerns resulting from a survey taken throughout the

Archdiocese earlier this year. A health number of you responded

and met in the group of your choice during the week of July 13th.

At the same time, a large number of our Hispanic parishioners,

assisted by Fr. Alberto and a staff member of the Archdiocesan

Office for Hispanic Ministry, went through the same process.

The results of all your discussions as well as several individual

responses were then submitted to me. Last week, Faye Smith,

who had kindly coordinated the discussion process, and I

compiled the responses and submitted them to the Archdiocesan

Office of Planning and Research.

I want to sincerely thank everyone who participated in any way in

this important stage in the development of our Archdiocesan

Pastoral Plan. You were intensely engaged in serious work

which resulted in thoughtful recommendations about the future

faith life of this growing Archdiocese. Thank you! I want to

thank in a special way Fr. Alberto, who organized the Hispanic

response, Faye Smith, coordinator, and Kim Patton Johnson,

chair of our Pastoral Council, as well as our discussion leaders:

Frances Ellison-Dansby and Bonnie Gissendanner, Lynda Ryan

and Larry Ruder, Henrietta Jones and Walter Longino, and

Corinthia Hayes and Uche Anikpe. Well done! May God bless

abundantly everyone who shared in St. Paul of the Cross’s

contribution to this phase of the Archdiocesan planning process.

Fr. Jerome, C.P.
