A SPECIAL THANK YOU: Mary and I would like to thank all the people who have expressed their condolences to us on the death (August 29) of our dog. Ci loved Collington from the first moment he set paw on the premises (in December 2013), wagging his tail enthusiastically. He liked interacting with humans, and had the good sense to stay away from people who were not dog fanciers. He would have been 15 in December. –Don Singer HEALTH SERVICES COMMITTEE SPEAKER, THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 21, 2PM – AUDITORIUM: WHAT IS MODERN GERONTOLOGY? ANNAPOLIS SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA (ASO): The first concert of the Annapolis Symphony Orchestra (ASO) is Saturday, October 7, 2017. The soloist is violinist Vadim Gluzman, playing Kodály, Shostakovich, and Dvorák, with the ASO, now in its 56th year. The October 7 Signup Sheet is in the October section of the Trips Book, just before the separate ASO Interest Sheet. The plan is for each Collingtonian to purchase his/her own Saturday night tickets by calling the ASO office at 410-263-0907 or at www.annapolissymphony.org. Buying 5, 4, or 3 tickets gives you advance purchase discounts because they are Subscription values. And Subscribers can buy unlimited half-price tickets. Single tickets are available now too. To show the gratitude of the ASO, when you purchase a Subscription, you will be sent a $20 gift certificate courtesy of Harry Browne's Restaurant. Now 25 residents have signed the ASO Interest Sheet. Signing it does not commit you to purchasing a ticket, but you must put the dates you wish to go. For Collington Trips' transportation arrangements, the last four concerts, starting November 18, are now on the Saturday schedule. Ten residents are required for a Collington bus. For the first concert on October 7, we will make our own transportation plans in cars, or perhaps Uber!! Two buses are already taken for that night.
