ARENA STAGE TICKET EXCHANGE POLICY: From now on, tickets for Arena Stage can only be exchanged 30 days before your show date, no later. In the case of an emergency, the Arena Stage staff will do their best to accommodate your requests. There will be no refunds for missed shows! COUNTRY STORE NEWS: Well, no potbellied stove for old regulars to warm their feet, but if you get there at the right time you can be entertained by storekeeper Herb and his sit-down comic, Clarita. And if there’s something you need we probably have it. The Country Store, doing what we can to keep you smiling! NEW PRODUCTS - Tek toothbrush - soft (thank you, Charlotte), Cadbury Fruit and Nut Bars (mouthwatering), Perrier Water (classy but not snooty), Bigelow English Teatime Tea (even Americans love it), Pepper Jack cheese snacks (when you need a shot of protein), and Depends (you can depend on us). And thanks to input from the Clinic, we have some new over-the-counter meds for those roller coaster temperature changes. GUIDANCE DOCUMENT FOR HIRING AIDES: Many residents hire Home Health Care Aides, both from agencies or privately. The Health Services Committee has compiled a Guidance Document suggesting procedures and standards to help in this process. SHABBAT DINNER, FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 10, 5:30PM – DINING ROOM: The next Friday night Sabbath dinner for the Jewish Community will begin promptly at 5:30PM in the Dining Room. NOMINATING COMMITTEE NOTICE: The Nominating Committee is beginning a search for candidates for resident member of the Collington Board of Directors to replace Julia Freeman, who will be leaving the Board this fall. The Bylaws require us to present two or more candidates to the Residents Association, to be voted on in a meeting in March. Residents may vote for any or all the candidates. The names of those who receive a majority of votes cast will be forwarded to the Board, which will choose one. Residents who wish to be considered or to suggest candidates should contact a member of the Nominating Committee, which consists of Marlene Browne, John Geron, Joyce Koch, Marion Henry, George Newman (chair), and Herb Stone. MESSAGES FROM THE LIBRARY: Since the newspaper thief continues to take Collington’s newspapers, there will be a box located in the Periodical Room for residents to donate their Wall Street Journal and New York Times newspapers each day. By doing this we hope to retain at least one copy of the entire newspaper daily. Those residents who now donate their copies of USA Today and the Washington Post may continue placing them on the top of the bookcase as usual. Reminders: the book selection group will meet on February 18th in the Board Room at 10 AM. Please put new book suggestions in the envelope located in the Feature of the Month alley. The Library Committee appreciates everyone who puts money in the Window Sill box. This money is used to purchase new books. If you have not

The tour will begin at 11AM and take approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour. Admission to the museum is $4 and will be paid in advance on Tuesday, February 14, and will be billed to your monthly statements. THE SMITHSONIAN NATIONAL MUSEUM OF AFRICAN AMERICAN HISTORY AND CULTURE, THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 23, WASHINGTON, D.C.: We will depart from Security at 10:15AM and return to Collington around 4PM.
