COLLINGTON COALITION AGAINST PHYSICIAN ASSISTED SUICIDE: Many thanks to all who participated in signing the petition. FYI, individual letters with attachment of petition-signatures were sent to key decision makers in Annapolis, asking for their vote against any draft legislation seeking Physician Assisted Suicide. A courtesy copy was also sent to the Maryland Catholic Conference in Annapolis; they lobby in Maryland year-around for the benefit of Maryland residents. I encourage Collingtonians to make individual contact with legislators, to boost our Collington Coalition Against Physician Assisted Suicide cause. John Geron, x7551.

Help us make this the year the End of Life Option bill becomes law in Maryland! Jeanne Slawson, x 7380. BOOK DISCUSSION CLUB, EARLY ALERT: Big change, friends! Librarian Barbara Fairchild told me, “The library has a total of 1,396 mysteries. 768 are hardcover and 628 are paperback.” Couple that with the fact that at the December discussion, three new people came evidently because the topic was Mysteries. So why don’t we stick to reading Mystery books, and also change the name? Henceforth, the name of the 4th Wednesday group will be MYSTERY BOOK DISCUSSION CLUB. When we gather at January 25th meeting, please report on a Mystery only. And bring a friend! John Geron, x7551.
