SATURDAY CONCERT, SATURDAY, DECEMBER 2, 3PM – AUDITORIUM: "The Composer as Piano Virtuoso." It will feature pianists and instrumentalists from the UMD School of Music. SUNDAY AFTERNOOON CONCERT, SUNDAY, DECEMBER 3, 3PM – AUDITORIUM: Our guest performer this week is Mark Hanak, who plays piano and sings. He is very engaging and includes audience participation. It is hoped that he will be offering a program of holiday music so that all of us can begin to feel the spirit of the season. Arnold Klick, a veteran of two military services, will deliver the topics and moderate the discussion. THE BASEBALL DISCUSSION GROUP will continue its monthly sessions during the winter months. Meetings will take place on the second Wednesday of every month. Join us for the next meeting, which will be on Wednesday, December 13, at 2PM in the Board Room. For questions regarding positions, please contact Kyle Barbehenn at [email protected] BE AWARE OF SCAMS: In light of the Holiday Season and the rise of scam phone calls, all residents and staff be aware. Be alert, whether you are out shopping or answering your phone or emails. There have been a couple incidents where scam phone call artists have taken on a threatening type attitude when asking for money. The best way to avoid scam phone calls is to not answer the phone if it’s a phone number you don’t recognize. If someone needs to get hold of you, they will leave a message. Most of the time scam artists will not leave a message. However, if they do and it sounds threatening contact security at x2020. Do not give out your personal information. We want everyone to have a safe holiday season!

Dear Resident: The new fiscal year for Collington begins January 1, 2018. On December 15, 2017, Collington will present its annual budget at the monthly community meeting. The budget has also been presented to the Resident Fiscal Review Committee, the Board Finance Committee, and the Collington Board of Directors. The budget presentation and the Executive Summary of the 2018 budget will be in the library for your reference and review.

On October 26, 2017, the Board of Directors approved a maximum monthly fee increase of 3.25%, rounded to the nearest maximum whole dollar, effective January 1, 2018. If applicable, the monthly charge per additional occupant will be $1,385 for residents with Lifecare contracts and $740 for residents with Fee-for-Service contracts. Your monthly fee includes local telephone service, electricity, water and sewer, trash removal, and basic cable and basic wireless internet. Residents may elect to add premium cable television, or high-speed internet to their service package, and will be billed by Comcast directly for those services. The schedule of ancillary charges for services provided by Collington and some contracted service providers will be provided prior to January 1, 2018.
