COMPUTER SCAMS: We have seen an increased number of calls from someone claiming to be from “Windows” and asking residents to do things with their computers. NEVER follow directions from any caller about helping with your computer, asking for money, account numbers or personal information. Just hang up and stay safe! PATIO FOUNTAIN: Whoever moved the fountain from the patio of Cottage1214 should know that we have the essential components of this fountain (pump, electric cable, owner's manual). Let us get it all together. Call the Estate Sales Team, Sara at x7355 or Sandi at x7211. ELEVATOR WORK ON THE 3RD FLOOR/SECURITY: Contractors will be working on one of the two elevators on the 3rd floor (down from Security) beginning April 10. of the apartment building. This is a temporary storage container for the HVAC units to be installed in the apartment building. Having the equipment on hand will allow efficiency of installation once the project begins. In the coming weeks, a schedule will be published outlining the specific dates for the apartment home HVAC switch over. The contractor needs to take delivery of the inventory and have it on site in order for the work to begin. Thank you for your understanding in indulging us to temporary utilize this space for storage. PASSOVER CELEBRATION: Collington is celebrating Passover on Monday, April 10th at 5:20 pm promptly in the Auditorium. The celebration is open to everyone at Collington, and includes a Passover dinner and celebration. You must reserve a place by calling the Dining Room at Ext. 2135 no later than noon on Friday, April 7th, saying (a) how many people are coming, (b) how many of them are outside guests, and (c) what each of them selects as their main course (either brisket or salmon). Residents coming are treated as if eating a regular dinner, i.e., they are charged one meal credit. Any resident bringing any outside guests will be charged $22 for each guest. (There will be no Jewish Friday Sabbath gathering on April 7, because of this Passover Celebration.) A MESSAGE FROM THE LIBRARY COMMITTEE: Check out the Large Print books now featured in the “Feature of the Month” alley. These books have not circulated for at least 3 years. Sign them out to "save" them. Because of the residents who are donating their own copies of the New York Times, we are able to provide at least one entire copy every day. SKIPJACK REGATTA: The Skipjack Regatta is planned for May 27. This year we would like to have District teams, 1000, 2000, 3000, 4000, 5000, and the apartments that would skipper our 6 Skipjack Boats. We'd also like to see a women's team that would eliminate the last district team formed. It is hoped that this will create some goodwill competition among the districts. What if woman's team won with all the bragging rights that would go with the win. Contact your District Representative to get your team formed. COMMITTEE CHAIRS: The RA fiscal year closes on 3/31. Please be sure you have all your expense reimbursement requests and all your deposits to Anne McCulley before then. Sooner rather than later would be much appreciated. After that, a new budget year will be in effect. Please let her know if you have any questions: 7338, [email protected], or in the RA office M-W-F, 10-12. Thanks for your help. COMING SOON! The 2017 Senior Health and Fitness Fair! This will take place here at Collington on Wednesday, May 31, 2017. We are hoping to make this a meaningful event for all, so we are asking for input as to what you would like to have included. Also, if there is some aspect of health or wellness that you would like to share with the community, let us know! Already several of your friends and neighbors will be contributing their talents. There will be resident demonstrations in yoga, stretching, meditation, balance and weight lifting, among many other presentations. Contact Sonja Sandoval on ext. 7795 or e-mail her at [email protected] no later than Friday, April 7 if you would like to share your talents with us all. Then please join the Fitness Committee meeting on Tuesday, April 11 in the Board Room at 3 pm to see what we have planned.
