This month’s theme is our members’ creativity. We hope to inspire all of you to find that side of your psyche and share more in future meetings. Many of us have spent our lives employing the left side of our brains with logical pursuits – accounting, nursing, engineering and education to name a few (the BUS in PROBUS). Our right-side brains are often dormant, waiting to be tapped! Enjoy the newsletter and the slide show on June 21

Conductor Neil Barlow and the Muskoka Concert Band are joined by esteemed soloists and musicians to re-create the music of the Anglo-Canadian Leather Company Band. In the early 1900's, this ensemble was created by industrialist C.O. Shaw and led by esteemed cornetist Herbert L. Clarke. Comprised of workers from the local Huntsville tannery mill, the band was featured at the CNE for ten years and was described as one of the ‘finest industrial plant bands in the country.’

Excerpt from The True Sendero Luminosa by David Mason
For happiness, the Lama says Dissipate your ego all your days
The ego drives to material Which is, in fact, ethereal.
Material won’t make you immortal You must try another portal Such as a mind enlightened
With sensitivity to suffering ‘enhightened’.
