Welcome to St. André’s Parish! No matter who you are, where you’ve come from, or what brings you here, we’re so glad to have you with us. St. André Bessette (1845-1937) spent much of his life serving as the door-keeper of his religious community; like him, we strive to open doors for our neighbors to experi-ence the loving mercy of God. May Jesus fill your heart with his grace and peace!

APPRECIATING OFFERTORY SUPPORT We sincerely thank our parishioners who are mailing or delivering your weekly envelopes to the parish office while we are in this isolation period with the COVID-19 Pandemic. As many of you understand our parish expenses and obligations do not take an isolation, so it is very helpful to be able to rely on your continued support even while you cannot personally attend Mass. We con-tinue to look to our faith as we carefully navigate in the coming months. Here at the Diocese of Ogdensburg we continue with our Mission of administering to the sick and helping those in need. We pray together for all the victims of this disease, those assisting with the care and for a cure.

From Fr. Steve…..

I pray that everyone is abiding by the safety regulations that the State and Federal government have imposed on us . They are meant to keep us safe during this global pandemic, which is very serious. Anyone who tells you this is not real is not looking at the facts or the science. At this time of global crisis it is more important than ever to turn to the Lord and know that he hears and sees the situation we find ourselves in. This Holy Week as we read the Passion and find ourselves facing our own passion it is important to put things in perspective and not panic. Remember as horrible as Good Friday is, it is followed by the Resurrection. Dr. Scott Hahn tells us that he always asks his children what is the mortality rate and the an-swer is 100% none of us will get out of this world alive. The good news is the Lords desire is that the immortality be 100%. Our Father in heaven wants us all to live for all eternity with him. The unknown is always frightening, however Jesus tells us over and over again, ―do not be afraid‖ he is with us always.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT Please take note that effective immediately all weekday and weekend Masses are suspended. All the Mass Intentions that have been scheduled during this time, will be rescheduled to a later date once they are resumed. The local clergy will contin-ue to say and record Mass even in the event that we can’t gather. St. André's Mass is recorded and aired on Channel 30 for Time Warner/Spectrum customers on Sunday at 9am, and Thursdays at 7pm and 9pm. The Mass will also be live streamed on St. André’s Facebook page on Sunday mornings at 9:00am. The other alternative for people that have Dish Network is Mass on EWTN - channel 261, and Directv on EWTN - channel 370. ==============================================

Prayer During Coronavirus Mary Immaculate, our Mother and our Patroness, we ask you to intercede for

us with your Son, as you did at the wedding in Cana.

Pray for us, loving Mother,

and gain for our diocese, our nation and our world, for our families and

loved ones, the protection of your Ma-ternal mantle from this dreaded virus.

In this time of trial and testing,

teach all of us to love one another and to be patient and kind.

Help us to bring the peace and healing Presence of Jesus to our land and to

our hearts.

We come to you with confidence, knowing that you are our compassionate mother,

health of the sick and cause of our joy. Keep us in the embrace of your arms,

PRAYER TO THE VIRGIN MARY FOR PROTECTION

O Mary, you shine continuously on our journey as a sign of salvation and hope.

We entrust ourselves to you, Health of the Sick. At the foot of the Cross you participated in Jesus’

pain, with steadfast faith. You, Our Lady of New York, know what we need.

We are certain that you will provide, so that, as you did a Cana of Galilee,

joy and feasting might return after this moment of trial. Help us, Mother of Divine Love,

to conform ourselves to the Father’s will and to do what Jesus tells us:

He who took our sufferings upon Himself, and bore our sorrows to bring us, through the Cross,

to the joy of Resurrection. Amen. We seek refuge under your protection,

O Holy Mother of God. Do not despise our pleas - we who are put to the test -

and deliver us from every danger, O glorious and blessed Virgin.

PROTECTING GOD’S CHILDREN

Protecting our children is a priori-ty in our parish, and it’s every-one’s responsibility. To report abuse: If you have a complaint of suspected misconduct involving Catholic clergy, religious, em-ployees, or volunteers, contact

Terrianne Yanulavich, diocesan Victims Assistance Coordinator (518-483-3261 or [email protected]) or Fr. Chris-topher Carrara, Vicar for Pastoral Personnel (315-393-2920 ext. 1340). Making a report to the Diocese of Ogdensburg in no way means that you should not make a report to police or child protec-tive agencies.

A Prayer for Healing

Hear the humble prayer of your people, God our Father, as we implore your mercy. Bring healing to all who have suffered physical, emotional, or sexual abuse at the hands of your ministers and restore them to fullness of life. Forgive your Church for the im-mense evil that has been committed and the great harm that has been done. Grant the grace of true repentance to all who have broken sacred trust, destroyed precious innocence, and failed to protect your beloved children entrusted to their pastoral care. Reconcile us to one another and never allow us be parted from you. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

“The Lord heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” (Psalm 147:3)

The annual North Country Catholic subscription campaign con-tinues. The paper features regular messages from Bishop La-Valley, authoritative information about what the church teaches on the issues that you face in 21st-century life and inspiring sto-ries about people living out their faith. Please place your subscrip-tion envelope in the collection basket or mail a check for $27 to the North Country Catholic, PO Box 106, Canajoharie, NY, 13317. "There are three kinds of giving: grudge giving says, I have to; duty giving says, I ought to; thanksgiving says, I want to. The first comes from constraint; the second from a sense of obligation; the third from a full heart." Rev. Robert Rodenmayer

Sacrament of Baptism Parents who wish to have a child baptized should contact Rev. Steven Murray to make arrangements for the date and for a program of preparation. Parents are highly encour-aged to make arrangements at least three months before the child is born, as the Catholic Church encourages Baptism for infants as soon as possible after birth. Adults and older children (seven years or older) interested in Baptism or en-tering into full communion with the Catholic Church should inquire about the program of preparation (R.C.I.A.: the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults).

Sacrament of Matrimony A Catholic wishing to be married in one of our churches should contact one of the priests at least six months prior to the desired date in order to begin making arrangements. A program of preparation is required. The parish should be contacted before any other plans are made—for example, the wedding reception.

Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick For those preparing for surgery, nursing home residents, or the homebound, contact one of the parish priests to make arrangements to be anointed. For those in the hospital (especially in the event of an emergency), ask the hospital staff to contact the priest on call.
