Divine Renovation Renewal Meeting Monday June 4 - 7 P.M.

The Church is not on a mission from Jesus, it is Jesus’ mission! But too many disciples feel like they're on the sidelines. It’s time to get in the game! Why do we do the things we do at SAB Parish? How does it all fit together? How can we be more fruitful? And where do you fit into it all?

Join us once a month to talk parish vision, evangelization strategy, personal gifts, and more. We will be using the book “Divine Renovation” by Father James Mallon as our guide. Meetings will be facilitated by parish evangelist, Seth Evangelho. All parishioners are invited to attend! Join us Monday, June 4 at 7 P.M. in the new Conference Center (277 Union Ave).

SoulFest Volunteer “Thank You” Meeting:

On Friday, June 8th at 6:00 P.M., the NH Right to Life Educational Trust is hosting a “Thank you” evening at St. André Bessette Parish for all the volunteers from the Lakes Region that assist at the SoulFest event.

Members of the group will answer questions regarding the ministry of the ETF of New Hampshire Right to Life, as well as garner new volunteers. This will be held in the front room of the Parish Hall (gym). Food and beverages will be provided.

The Culture of Life Committee has provided manpower for the NH Right to Life booth at SoulFest the past 4 or more years. This year’s SoulFest will be held Thursday, August 2nd thru Saturday, August 4th. If you have volunteered in the past or are curious about what this entails, come and see.

Please contact Pat Kiefer at [email protected] or call him at 455-9308 to let him know if you are thinking of coming so they can provide enough refreshments. .

MEN’S PRAYER GROUP

The St. André Bessette Men’s Small Group meets Sunday mornings 9-10:00 A.M. Our time is spent with scripture reading, reflection and sharing. All men of the parish are invited to come check us out! If you’re interested in joining us, contact Pat Kiefer at 455-9308. We look forward to meeting you.

ORGANIZATIONAL MEETING

AND BARBECUE!

The Ladies Guild will be holding their monthly meeting on Tuesday, June 5th at 5:30 PM at

St. André Bessette Parish Hall. We will be having a barbecue with Hamburgers, Hot Dogs, Ice cream sundaes etc.

All women of the Parish are invited. The cost is $7.00. Any questions please contact Debbie Blais at [email protected] or 524-2909.

Boy Scout Troop 68 Needs Your Help! A Boy Scout is always prepared and Boy Scout Troop 68 is modeling that idea by seeking out a new home to store our trailer and bags of cans between crushes. This is a very valuable fundraiser that helps our boys and the environment and having a place to serve as “cans central” is key to its success. “Cans central” could be a field or wooded area or even a commercial garage bay that can contain bags of cans, our can trailer, and a small storage shed of supplies throughout the year. A location in Meredith, Laconia or Gilford would be preferred to ease transportation of cans and trailer, and to get scouts to and from the location for crushing.

Please contact Betsy Damon by email: [email protected] or by phone/text message, 603-275-3194 if you have that place and would like to help the troop. We thank you in advance for your support and generosity!

Barbecue & Open House All parishioners are invited to enjoy a BBQ lunch as well as a tour of the new Parish Center on the Sacred Heart Campus on Sunday June 10 from 11:30-1. Father Marc, as well as members of the Committee, will be available to lead tours of the building and answer questions. Please join us for some good food and information!

TIME TO CLEAN YOUR JEWELRY BOXES!!!

Summer is nearly here and it is time to switch to cooler clothes! Maybe as you sort your clothes, you could set aside any jewelry you have not been using and save it for the Nutcracker Christmas Fair! The jewelry committee will be gathering to discuss and prepare for the fair starting in June. We are counting on you once again Thank you in advance! Call Mo Lord at 603-527-8248 to arrange for pick ups or drop offs!.

Many hands make less work for those cleaning up!

In our modern times, symbol can seem to have lost its value. The most recognizable “signs” are ones we see on the road or the branding in advertisements. The logos for major companies don’t do much more than perk our interest or disdain. They

surely don’t deliver on their promises for our lives to be happier, healthier, and easier.

On this feast of Corpus Christi, we hear the account of the Last Supper. This was Passover, an ancient sign of the covenant of Moses. The Hebrew people celebrated God’s providential care for His people. To the listening disciples, Jesus makes a very bold claim. “This is my blood of the covenant.” At the time of the first Passover -- the redemption of the Hebrew people from slavery to the Egyptians -- the blood of the sacrificial lamb was spread on the lintels of the doorpost. Tomorrow, some of the disciples would witness the blood of the new covenant spread across the wood of the cross.

Christ’s Body and Blood are more than a sign. They are a sacrament. In the sacrament, the sign makes real what it signifies. More than ritual, a sacrament enacts truth of the covenantal love of God and His promise of fidelity. It’s a promise God keeps. The same bread and wine of that first Holy Thursday liturgy becomes -- throughout the centuries and until the end of time -- the very Body and Blood of Christ. On this feast, we celebrate the unfailing covenantal love of our God. As you partake in the Eucharist today, and next Sunday, and the Sunday after that, remember that you receive neither a meaningless sign nor an empty offer. You receive God Himself, as He fulfills His promise to remain with us always.

Worldwide Marriage Encounter Weekend Allow God to give you grace in abundance and transform your marriage relationship by attending a Worldwide Marriage Encounter Weekend.

for the coming 2018-2019 school year Volunteer host families (with or without children) as well as single parents are needed to provide food, a bed and a loving home for the coming school year starting in late August.

EMF students have medical insurance, spending money for their personal expenses and expect to share their host family’s daily life including household responsibilities. They speak English, are well-screened and eager to experience life in America. Their stay here is sponsored and supervised by EMF (Educational Merit Foundation), a non-profit, educational exchange organization.

For more information on EMF students, please call Marie-Claude Dijoud now at 1-800-467-8363 or visit our web site at www.emfusa.org.
