I can't believe how quickly the weeks are flying by. We are already into the third week of February. I personally need more hours in the day. I'm supposed to be semi-retired, but that doesn't seem to be happening, I am as busy as ever.
As a Club we have had a busy start to the year and the next couple of weeks will see that continuing.
Our four week stint at the Bush two Up has finished. A very well worthwhile exercise for the Club. Two of the Sundays were stinking hot - oh boy made me reflect on how the Pioneers to this area coped in the hot weather. Ties and long sleeves were always worn as were corsets for the ladies. It must have been unbearable. Any wonder the ladies suffered 'vapours'.
Saturday is the Community Expo where we will join
the other two Rotary Clubs to promote Rotary. It will be a cooler 33 which will be nice. If you have some spare time come on down and join Cherie and I and the members of the other two clubs in St Barbara's Square. It's not a long day the Expo is on from 10-12.
Then we are in the final run to the Film night for the screening of The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel. All members are asked to encourage family and friends to buy a ticket and come along to the movie. The screening starts at 6.15 so it won't be a long night AND you get the benefit of seeing Richard Gere! A huge plus from me.
The Board minutes will be circulated to members over the next few days. Also included will be a

From President Esther ...
Rotary Club of Kalgoorlie meets at the Tower Hotel on Mondays at 6.00pm for 6.30pm. Visitors welcome!
FEBRUARY is WORLD UNDERSTANDING Month
Rotary Club of Kalgoorlie
Thursday 26 February 2015 Screening starts at 6.15pm
summary of our activities over the past 8 months and what is coming up until the end of this Rotary year.
The next two club meetings have been reserved to allocate time to go through the Constitution documents that were sent through by DG Brian prior to Christmas. We will work through them as a club and have them ready for submission within the next month.
Can I remind members that even though we order
our meals from the Tower's menu we still need to advise Ross if we will be an apology? Ross advises
the Tower how many members will be attending and the Tower set up the room for that many attendees. The last two weeks we have had at least three members who have not been at the meeting and have not submitted an apology. It has meant resetting the tables.
Enjoy the rest of your week as you Light up Rotary.

Is it the TRUTH?
