CHRISTMAS BREAKFAST FOR VETERANS A SUCCESS
Our annual Christmas Breakfast for Veterans on December 7th was attended by twenty residents of the VA Hospital in Canandaigua as well as other guests. Everyone enjoyed a scrumptious, bountiful meal. No one left hungry or dissatisfied, believe me. Thanks to the volunteers who donated their time and energy, this event was another successful effort to demonstrate appreciation to our military veterans, and it was much appreciated by them.
There is little in life that is as satisfying as working on a team to pull something like this off. You can be proud to belong to an organization like the Moose that provides so many op-portunities for public service. Thanks again to the men and women who made this day pos-sible, including:
Ray Bialkowski, Carl Burkhardt, Gail Burkhardt, Michael Davis, Jean D'Aprile, Butch Every, Ed French, Norma French, Jim Hallock, Fran Hallock, Kevin Hyland, Karen Ingalls, Bob Laux, Dana Marshall, Julie McIntyre, Fritz Meuller, Dorie Re, Bob Spring and Dave Wallace.
Our annual picnic for the veterans will be held in the pavilion on Sunday, August 2nd.
Happy New Year, Everyone! ~ Walter Bowen
Happy New Year to everyone. Hopefully you had a great Holiday season. As I write this article, the new siding and insulation is being applied to our Family Center. The members voted in October to spend the money for the upgrades. We are also upgrading the electrical lighting on both the building as well as the parking lot with LED lights. Come down some time and see how it looks.
Once again, I ask that you try to help build our membership. We need younger members to join our great fraternity. If you enjoy being a member, why not share that experience with your relatives, neighbors, friends, etc. All you have to do is ask them to join. Show them the benefits and the fun we have at events and activities. Don’t forget to mention the rea-son we do exist, is to support our kids at Mooseheart and our seniors at Moosehaven, not to brag about all the benefits that come with membership (a brochure is offered with the ap-plication).
We are still looking forward in receiving some grant money from Moose International to make further improvements to our property both inside and out. We are hoping to receive notice of any grant money in the next few months. Any suggestions that you might have, let us know. How about attending a meeting once in awhile to see and hear what is happening. We meet on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month (except holidays) at 7 pm. Come share some of your ideas. Please get some involvement. After all, this is your fraternity, why not support it! Just a reminder to ALL Moose members, we are 100% all volunteers. No one gets paid. So if you can just give us a little time, we sure would appreciate it. “Many hands make light work”. Some of our members come in at 8:30 am to help start the day off with trash removal, cleaning, stocking the Social Quarters, vacuuming, etc. and we always have coffee on brewing for those volunteers. Also, weekends and evenings we can use help throughout the building with programs and events. You only get out of the Moose, what you put into it. Come join us for some fun and friendship.
Have a great January and thanks again all you volunteers, we sure do appreciate what you do!

GOVERNOR’S REPORT ~ Kevin Hyland
January Thank You’s.
Thank you:
Dan and Sheila Elliott for donating 20 pounds of SugarDale Hot Dogs. This 20 pounds of Hot Dog donation will offset and supplement our local food donations to our local charities. Thanks Dan and Sheila for your generous food donation.
Walt Bowen and his crew of dedicated volunteers that support our Veteran functions. Walt organ-ized the Veterans Breakfast on December 7th. We had 18 veterans from the Canandaigua VA come join us for breakfast. The Veterans enjoyed themselves so much – they all had a second helping of the Sausage, Egg and Cheese breakfast sandwiches we were serving.
Thanks to Walt, Mike and Julie for the serving support; Thanks to Kevin, Dave, Dana, Bobbie and Ray for the Kitchen support.
Junior Regent, Jessica Kamm’s committee event of the annual Adult Christmas party December 13th. Jessica organized the party, and with the support of Dorie’s cooking of the Stuffed Pork Chop meal including the Cheesecake dessert. The serving support of the meal was performed by Jessica’s extended family members and W.O.T.M. members, Debbie Kelsey and Sheryl Watts. Thank you all for the fun and a wonderful time. The Chinese Auction always seems to steal the show. Great job!
Jean D’April for organizing a crew for her Kitchen organization of the walk-in Freezer and Cooler. The kitchen is truly coming back together.
Pat Ladd, Pat Dano, Dana Marshal and Ladd’s son Elliot for preparing our delicious Friday night meals we have all enjoyed. Thank you Elliot for washing our dishes, Pot and Pans. Elliot has been our primary support for the cleaning of the utensils we use and I want to say thanks Elliot for all of your hard work. Pat Dano for donating a much needed refrigerator for our kitchen usage. Last Fri-day our regular used one quit on us and a replacement was needed fast. Thanks Patty for you gen-erous donation.
Russ Whalley for providing our Social Quarter’s events with your donations of music for many of our events. Thanks for contacting and scheduling the other musicians for our entertainment.
Please schedule your time to attend a Lodge meeting this year. Your Lodge meetings happen on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of every month. Let’s make 2015 a year of involvement. Remember the enjoy-ment you get out of your Moose is directly related to what efforts you contribute.
Thank you for your support.
Sincerely;
Kevin Hyland, Governor 2014/2015
From our Senior Regent ~ Linda Wilkinson
Happy January Everyone Well 2014 is gone and we welcome 2015. I hope everyone had a great year as well as a wonderful and safe Holiday season. Our Adult Christmas Party was a lot of fun. Jessica Kamm did a great job putting this together and the dinner served by Dorie Re was delicious. Great job ladies. Breakfast with Santa and Gerry Amann's Game Day at the Moose also went very well. Our January and February meeting schedule will be a little different than normal. With New Years Day being on the first Thursday of the month, our Joint Board and Activity Meeting will be held on the 8th of January and our Women's Board Meeting will be on the same night as our Business meeting at 6pm. Our February meeting will be the same as January: The first meeting will be on the 12th and the second will be on the 19th. Hope this is clear to everyone, if not just ask me. Sue Hyland will be holding a Meatball Crockpot Challenge on January 10th. She will also be making meatball subs afterwards. Our Lodge will be hosting the District Breakfast on the 11th at 10:30 and the SWNYCHD Breakfast on the 18th. Please come join us. Janet and Vern Downey will be having a Moose Luau on the 24th so please see them for information. The Lodge will be hosting a Have a Heart Campaign at the Market Place Mall. See any LOOM member for details. February 14th is our Chocolate Auction and Silent Auction, so break out those old family recipes and start baking. We are in need of items for our Silent Auction. Anyone willing to put forth the effort to help a chairman in need, please see me and I will get what ever information forwarded to you. I am still looking for proposals from a great many of you. We are coming close to the end of this Moose year and there is still a lot to be done. I need these proposals to me as soon as possible. More information coming up in the future about March and April events so stay tuned. Until next month. Have a great time. Your Senior Regent Linda M. Wilkinson
We are organizing “Blankets for Dialysis patients”.

Happy New Year Everyone!
I would like to thank everyone who attended our Annual Christmas Party on December 13th. It was our most attended Christmas party ever! We served 58 dinners that night! I would like to thank Sheryl Watts for her creativity and
help with the party favors. I hope everyone got one of her decorations for your tree. They are so awesome! I would like to thank Debbie Kelsey for all of her help. Last, but certainly not the least, my family. Kim Richardson, Corrie Mann, Brandon & Corbin Kamm, Caitlin Richardson, Dorie Re, and Amanda Guessford for all of their help. Without you, it would not have been the suc-
cess it was.
